What is Anemia?

Pernicious anemia is a type of megaloblastic anemia, a condition in which the blood doesn't have enough healthy red blood cells. It denotes a decrease in functioning red blood cells when the body can't absorb enough vitamin B-12. The blood, therefore, is unable to effectively circulate oxygen throughout the body.
