While making your own frosting can seem daunting, store-bought frostings are loaded with fillers, preservatives and other unsavory ingredients.

Enter this easy, decadent, dairy-free gem, a go-to for any gathering and any dietary restriction. When it comes to this vegan “cream cheese” frosting, you can have your cake and frost it, too.

Ingredients

1 container of vegan cream cheese

2 cups confectioners sugar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 tablespoons lemon juice

¼ cup vegan butter substitute

Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Using a hand mixer, or standing mixer, add all the ingredients together.
  2. Beat on a low speed, and bring the speed up slowly until ingredients are well combined.
