How I work with my clients

I Go To Them

My Conditions

My interest in cooking began with french-toast and cookies when I was a kid. Luckily, I have evolved to a healthier diet since then! After being a home-cook for many years, I decided to pursue my passion and go to culinary school. At the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, I learned how to cook in a health-supportive fashion; this means preparing foods that are nutritionally dense, and vital to maintaining the body’s natural healing processes. But learning how to cook was not enough for me. I wanted to learn how the entire industry functioned, from dirt to plates, and so I enrolled at NYU in their Food Studies Master’s Program. There, I dug into everything from contemporary issues such as the obesity crisis, to global consumerism, to farm labor, to GMO foods, as well as courses in policy, food writing, food history, and entrepreneurship. What I am finding, over and over again, is that eating with awareness is key. While in school, I have worked at a number of restaurants that emphasize conscious cooking such as Mas Farmhouse, Ellary’s Greens, and Bhagavat Life. I have also cooked for yoga retreat centers like The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY, and the Yala Collective in Tuscany. Teaching continues to be a passion of mine, and I have been honored to teach at The Edible Schoolyard, The Sylvia Center, and with Further Food! My story is simple: it is about understanding the connections between people and food, and supporting people to live vibrantly. Want to schedule a private cooking class with me?
