I’ve always been into eating healthy and healthy food! My father is in the vitamin business and I’ve been going to health food trade shows since I can remember. Growing up we even owned a health food store, so you might say being healthy is in my blood. Although I didn’t go into nutrition out of college, it didn’t take me long to realize the corporate world just wasn’t giving me what I needed. After 8 years working at a Law Firm I went back to school and became a Registered Dietitian. I started as a Dietitian working in hospitals to get an overview of many different medical conditions, and then I started to work in private practices in Manhattan. However, many of these practices didn’t fit within my nutrition beliefs. I didn’t want my clients eating artificial sweeteners and “no calorie” foods so I started my own practice based on realistic goals to help my clients meet their needs and maintain those results. I firmly believe that educating my clients instead of just handing them meal plans leads to a lifetime of healthy habits and habits they can share with their families. I am an avid home-cook and I focus on gluten-free and dairy-free foods for myself and whole grains and minimally refined sugar when it comes to my three sons. My kids cook with me in the morning and on weekends and I can happily say they all like veggies (but they don’t all like salmon). I am a big believer in being active, playing sports, lifting weights and trying new things. I also enjoy chocolate and wine!
