I always knew my migraines were influenced by my diet, but it took me until my 30’s to realize that I was eating a pro-inflammatory diet that was also affecting my other conditions. For a long time I thought I was eating a healthy diet, but after transitioning to an unprocessed diet and removing foods that I determined bothered me (namely gluten and dairy) I experienced the biggest, positive impact. In small doses I can tolerate soy, peanuts and corn, but I generally avoid these. Since making these dietary changes and making fitness non-negotiable, I have come off of all of my medications and I ran the NYC marathon in 2013. Now, when I eat, I not only pay attention to the taste and experience of the food, but also to how it serves my health. To find out more about Jocelyn and her recipes, visit her website: www.anunprocessedlife.com
