At that time I did not see a doctor as the symptoms had dissipated within three weeks. In May 2010, I had severe tingling and numbness through out my body from underneath my chest down to my arms and legs. I had a series of tests done and my MRI’s showed I had lesions in my brain and cervical spine but none on my thoracic spine. Based on this, at the age of 27 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This had led me to start researching the cause and effects of this disease. I fell upon a book at Barnes and Noble, ” Healing Multiple Sclerosis” by Ann Boroch and started my journey to heal my body through wholefoods and supplements. I eliminated dairy, sugar, gluten, wheat, soy and yeast. I also started to take supplements such as multi-vitamins, B-complex, fish oil, vitamin D, probiotics and L-glutamine and within two months my symptoms had slowly started to dissipate. My sleep was getting back to normal, which I had struggled for years with. I started to practice yoga, which has tremendously helped with my anxiety. Now, for the most part, I follow a Paleo diet but do not eat red meat, honey or coconut sugar. Eggs, chicken and turkey and all vegetables work well for me. I’m truly grateful for everything I have and accomplished in my life. Without my diagnosis I would have not become the person I’am today. I want everyone to know who is struggling with any autoimmune disease that you can heal your self too!Find me here on Facebook! http://on.fb.me/1k2Ls0i
