I think each one of us as a child, was going mad for Rice Krispies, because they were crunchy, sweet and they could be eaten in many ways (drowned in a cup of milk, covered with chocolate or by eating handfuls of them directly from the box). These really remind those but they are absolutely a healthier version. I have bought online the puffed quinoa because I wasn’t able to find it where I live, but if you are in a big city I don’t think you will have any problems, otherwise you can by at this link in Amazon or use puffed rice. I do prefer quinoa of course for all its good properties as the high fiber and protein contained in it.
These treats are really easy to make, you just need 4 ingredients (raw cacao, coconut oil, maple syrup and puffed quinoa) and 10 minutes of your time to make and can be an easy and quick snack to keep in the fridge for when you are craving something sweet. But they are really perfect for a last minute dinner with friends. The original recipe has also almond butter (or any nut butter of your choice), but I have tried without and like it more, of course you can add it and make these treats more sweet and fanciful. They’re really indulgent and chocolatey but totally guilt free and gluten free. Believe that they are a revelation!
