This frozen yogurt speaks for itself. I live in the deep South where it is over a 100 degrees in the shade with 100% humidity, daily. I needed a cool treat with less fat, hence my version of the yogurt cup was born.

Frozen Yogurt Sundae with Homemade Blackberry Sauce
4 (3 ounce) scoops frozen vanilla yogurt
1 pint blackberries (set aside 4 berries for garnish)
1/4 cup sugar*
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch ground allspice
4 dollops of fat free whipped cream
4 fresh mint leaves
*can substitute stevia or your favorite sweetener (for stevia, reduce the amount to 1-2 tablespoons or to taste)
- In a small pan over medium heat add berries, sugar and cinnamon.
- Using a hand potato masher, smash berries.
- Cook berries, stirring often until mixture comes to a boil.
- Then cook for an additional five minutes and remove from heat until it cools completely.
- Add one scoop of frozen yogurt to an ice cream dish and drizzle blackberry sauce over top.
- Top with a dollop of whipped cream and garnish with a fresh black raspberry and mint leaf. Repeat for each serving.
