These vegan Golden Turmeric Blondies make for the ultimate anti-inflammatory treat! They’re made with Further Food Superfood Turmeric ,which contains a whole slew of health-boosting herbs, spices, and adaptogens including cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black pepper, ginger, boswellia, and schisandra berry.

If you’re going to have a treat, you might as well make it an anti-inflammatory one! Especially when that means adding delicious spices. Turmeric is one of the most potent (and clinically proven) natural anti-inflammatory foods that you can consume due to it containing curcumin, a potent antioxidant. The black pepper in the Superfood Turmeric contains piperine, which enhances the bioavailability of the curcumin in turmeric, allowing your body to absorb more of it’s antioxidant power than if you consumed turmeric alone.

These blondies are low in sugar and free of refined sugar (minus the chocolate chunks), sweetened with just banana and a touch of honey. When incorporating so many delicious and flavorful spices into baked goods, you generally don’t have to use as much sweetener since spices naturally enhance the flavor!

I used both whole wheat and oat flours in this recipe which are naturally high in fiber, minimizing blood sugar spikes and promoting satiety.

Further Food Commentary:

Avocado oil is a great substitution for butter in this recipe. It is high in healthy, unsaturated fatty acids that keep your brain working at tip top shape. Turmeric is another great ingredient to add, especially the Superfood Turmeric. Not only does it contain Turmeric, but it also has anti-inflammatory spices like cinnamon and cloves along with adaptogens like boswellia. Turmeric is great for reducing inflammation, both internal and topically.
