Guess what? Dietitians like to have fun with their friends and drink on occasion too! However, I don’t want to go completely overboard on calories if I can help it. Drinks like this Skinny Strawberry Daiquiri are delicious and low in calories to keep me closer to my goal even on nights that I splurge a little!

Strawberries have a tremendous anti-oxidant load. Anti-oxidants will protect your cells from damage. Using frozen strawberries is very smart, as strawberries spoil very easily when fresh, but once they are frozen (frozen fresh) they can be kept in the freezer for long periods of time. There is also a fair amount of Vitamin C in this drink-as that vitamin is prevalent in the strawberries, lime, and cranberry juice.

Skinny Strawberry Daiquiri

Ingredients

1 cup frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 cup diet cranberry juice
1/2 teaspoon light agave nectar
1/2 cup ice
2 ounces light rum

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. THAT’S IT! Enjoy!
