As a Sugar Detox Health Coach, I love creating recipes that are simple, healthy and as delicious as a dessert without the blood sugar impact. This Strawberry Avocado Basil Smoothie recipe is refreshing and a nutrition-packed healthy treat or satisfying breakfast or snack.

It is so easy to make, all you have to do is throw the ingredients in a blender and blend! It  is a great quick and easy breakfast that is great to take on the go.

Also, don’t be afraid of the cauliflower in this smoothie. Once all of the ingredients are blended together you can hardly taste it. Plus, it is a great way to sneak some extra veggies into your diet!

This smoothie recipe is great for breakfast, especially for people following the Keto diet. With 24g of fat per serving from avocado and coconut milk and 4g of protein from the collagen peptides, this smoothie will keep you energized throughout the day. Plus unlike most smoothie recipes, there are only 11g of net carbs! Also, with 7g of fiber, this smoothie can also help improve digestion.

Strawberry Avocado Basil Smoothie (Keto, Vegan)

Ingredients

1 cup frozen riced cauliflower
1 handful of fresh organic baby spinach
1/4 avocado (pitted)
1 cup lite or full-fat canned coconut milk
1/2-1 cup unsweetened coconut, hemp or flax milk (or increase the amount of canned coconut milk amount to blend)
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk Greek yogurt (optional – I use Kite Hill brand)
1/2 cup frozen organic strawberries
2 scoops collagen peptides
a generous handful of fresh basil leaves
1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
1 tablespoon raw unshelled hemp seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a high speed blender or mini NutriBullet until smooth, thick and creamy. (Adjust the liquid as needed to your desired level of consistency.)
  2. Pour into a glass and garnish with raw unshelled hempseeds if desired and enjoy!
