There can be so many calories, sodium and sugars in what we season our food with, believe it or not. But, eating healthy doesn’t mean eating without flavor! Lemon juice/zest is an AMAZING thing to season your food with. It can freshen up the flavor profile of so many dishes. Meats, veggies, salads, you name it! Another thing I love seasoning meats and veggies with is turmeric! It’s soo flavorful and has so many health benefits.
Turmeric has been touted as a super food with many health benefits to it. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. For a tiny little spice it is extremely healthy and a great remedy for many illnesses. Research has found that consuming black pepper with curcumin increases its bioavailability, allowing your body to absorb it into the bloodstream better.
