I went vegetarian, low fat, ate all the latest foods to support lowering cholesterol but nothing really made a significant change until I realized it’s sugar and carbs, not fat! Sugar causes inflammation and the response of arteries to inflammation is to protect themselves by laying down a waxy substance caused plaque. When I eliminated almost all sugars (most fruits as well), my cholesterol went into normal range and even the plaque on my teeth, once a huge issue, became almost non-existent. The health of my gums improved and I easily dropped unneeded weight. Nice side effects!I continue eating at least 75% alkaline, feel energized and really great. Feel free to email me for my personal ‘cheat sheet’ for substituting alkaline foods for acidic ones. www.AndreaCandee.comAndrea is a master herbalist with a practice in South Salem, NY and also works with The Liphe (pronounced Life) Balance Center in Weston, CT, coaching programs of alkaline cleanses and lifestyle.
