One fun family project to do is to grow a small herb garden in the house. Most people think you must eat fruits and veggies to get all your nutrients in for the day, but a hidden food that has A TON of nutrients are herbs! Spices are also a product that should be bought organic since you eat the leaves that are sprayed with chemicals. One way to save money is to keep one of these cute plants in the kitchen! You can utilize these herbs in this fun avocado protein smoothie!

Further Food Commentary:

In every serving of avocado, you get nearly 20 vitamins and minerals, including lutein, folate and potassium, which are good for your eyes, enhance cell repair, and are needed during pregnancy and to help control blood pressure, respectively. While avocados are high in fat, it’s the good kind of fat, called monounsaturated fats, which helps lower bad cholesterol. Not sure what to do with any avocado leftover? It's a great addition to any salad or eat as is! As long as its unsweetened, in comparison to other types of milk, almond milk is lower in calories. Raw almonds are a good source of protein, and almond milk is a good source of vitamin A and D and is naturally lactose free. It should be noted that it should be thought of as a good source of calcium, which is important for those with osteoporosis and optimum bone growth.
