They are versatile, healthy, filling, cheap, and best of all – delicious. It’s pretty amazing how many meals can incorporate beans, and I love that I can count on them to achieve meat like substitutes, like the vegan black bean burgers in this post. These black bean burgers have plenty of kick due to the already seasoned beans and addition of jalapeno pepper. If you are super sensitive to heat, tone down the spice with less or no jalapeno- but spicy dishes are my favorites so I went for it!
