Hi Sugar Detoxers! I know you’re busy and it’s hard to find the time to exercise. But did you know that even in 10-15 minutes, you can get a good workout? Here are four tips to make the most of the time you have to dedicate to exercise.
- Try a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout.
High intensity interval workouts, HIIT, that combine strength training and cardio are efficient ways to maximize the time you spend working out. You can get the same or even better results through a HIIT workout 3 times a week than spending hours on hours doing long distance cardio on the treadmill.
- Start lifting weights.
You don’t need to belong to a fancy gym with lots of equipment to get a good workout in! Lifting free weights, such as dumbbells, engages more muscles and works your back and core than machine lifting. You can build lean muscle mass in any location – even in the comfort of your own home.
- Keep things FRESH!
When you do repetitive workouts week after week, the body adapts and essentially you are wasting your time slaving away at the same exercises. Mix up your workouts by taking a new class or moving your session outside. You’ll get a better workout and beat the boredom!
- Up the intensity.
Identify ways to make your current workouts even MORE challenging! For example, if you enjoy walking but you usually do it on a completely flat surface, try boosting the incline to engage more muscles and get your heart rate up faster. Even small increases to your intensity can make a big difference!
