Max Lugavere on Further Food Collagen Benefits

Welcome to my kitchen! I want to give a shout out to my friends at Further Food. They have an incredible website full of amazing content from all kinds of health experts. I’m really honored to be spotlighted on Further Food.

I received their first product, Further Food Collagen, and I just tried it. It tastes great, and it’s without any artificial sweeteners or flavorings. Collagen is really important. I try to supplement with some collagen protein every single day, because it’s one of the proteins that’s been lost to the modern diet. Back when we were hunter gatherers and hunted our own food, no part of the animal would go wasted. And that includes organ meats, which are rich in a variety of nutrients, including collagen. Today we tend to eat only muscle meat.

Collagen protein is rich in amino acids which are relatively rare in the modern diet and are essential for holding our body together. Collagen is essentially the glue that holds our meat together. It’s essential for joint health and skin health. Our bodies do make it, but we can help by supplementing with more of this raw material to keep our bodies healthy. I also take collagen with Vitamin C, which I try to get a lot of. You can get Vitamin C from dark leafy greens, bell peppers and low sugar fruits.

So go check out Further Food and Further Food Collagen. I dig it!

Hi Max, Have you ever met anyone who had an adverse effect from taking collagen powder? I’m talking about more joint pain and flu like discomfort? Enjoy your post and thankful for all the Alzheimer’s research you do. Keep up the good work!

      Hi Emily:
Max will get back to you with a response soon. However, I want to tell you that we at Further Food have not had anyone complain about the symptoms you mention from collagen. In fact, we have been getting a lot of positive feedback, including how collagen helps reduce joint pain among other benefits. If you are interested, we encourage you to give it a try and let us know what you think.
