Sometimes I just don’t have the time to make all of my own herbal medicine, and on those days, I’m grateful for companies like Further Food! I’ve been fortunate to work with this women-led company on several occasions, and I’m always excited about the products they provide. Their new Elderberry Soothing Syrup is no different.

Elderberry is a wonderful ally for this time of year, helping to stimulate immune surveillance (looking out and attacking invaders!), and acting as an anti microbial. As we get into the colder months, this is one of my favorite herbs to incorporate. Lately, I’ve been adding this syrup to my breakfast porridge-you know I love to include herbs in my food! Elderberry Breakfast Porridge

Ingredients

1 cup coconut milk (or milk of your choice)
2 tablespoons coconut flour
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2 tablespoons flax meal
2 teaspoons Further Food Elderberry Soothing Syrup

Instructions

  1. Heat milk on stove just until hot.
  2. Whisk in all other ingredients.
  3. Turn off heat and whisk for another minute until porridge thickens.
  4. Drizzle with Elderberry Syrup & top with your favorite toppings!
