Wheatgrass powder contains fiber, iron, vitamin E, and calcium; however, be careful to choose a certified gluten free variety if you are gluten intolerant as wheatgrass can be contaminated during harvesting. Since it is primarily fruit-based, this smoothie bowl is high in carbohydrates. Top with unsalted nuts to contribute satiating protein and healthy fats which can help to slow carbohydrate digestion and hold you over until your lunch break.

Super Green Smoothie Breakfast Bowl

Ingredients

2 frozen bananas
1 big handful of spinach
1 big handful of kale
1 teaspoon wheatgrass powder (can omit)
splash of coconut water
toppings of your choice such as flaxseed, gluten free oats, frozen blueberries or goji berries

Instructions

1. Simply blend all of the ingredients in a blender until thick and creamy before adding toppings! Coconut water is a great liquid to add more of if you want a thinner consistency, and ice is great to thicken – an ice cream esque texture is what you’re aiming for.
2. Enjoy with granola, oats, fruit, superfoods or whatever you fancy.
