They make their healthful food taste as bland and boring as possible. When that happens, eating becomes a chore rather than a pleasurable experience. Don’t be afraid to spice up your food with herbs and seasonings. This will not only make your food taste delicious, but it can enhance digestibility as well. Herbs and spices contain essential oils that benefits digestion and absorption of food. Many “hot” cooking spices were generally used in hot climates. Eating hot spices heats up the internal body, opening our pores to let us sweat, and cooling the body in the process. Salt has gotten a bad rap, but salt is essential to all of your bodily processes. Humans have long revered the importance of salt. So much so in fact, that people were paid with it — hence the word “salary.” Salt is as essential for our health as water. Not all salt is beneficial to our health. Unfortunately, most of the packaged and refined food in our diet today contains high levels of poor quality salt. The refined commercial table salt that is in most food today has been stripped of its many essential elements and can contribute to high blood pressure, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, osteoporosis, and weight gain. It’s best to season food during the cooking process, and try not to salt your food at the table. When you cook with salt, it energetically has a different effect on the body. There are many different brands of sea salt to choose from.
