Black Bean Coffee Brownies

This recipe recipe is for a wheat-free brownie made with a secret ingredient: black beans! In this particular recipe, the black bean’s flavor is completely indistinguishable. But, its nutritional benefits are there in full force, namely protein and fiber! So grab a blender or food processor and get to work on these Black Bean Coffee Brownies!

Further Food Commentary:

Substituting black beans for flour not only makes this recipe gluten-free, but they also provide a boost in fiber, protein, and micronutrients such as potassium, magnesium, and zinc. Including black beans in your diet can help lower blood pressure, keep blood sugar levels stable, and even ward off heart disease.

The use of applesauce in these brownies also helps to cut back on the amount of oil used, and thus lower the amount of calories and fat without sacrificing flavor or texture.
