Raspberries, Blueberries and Dates Smoothie

Print

Blueberries season is upon us, and I love them cause they are sweet and juicy, and mixing them with the natural sweetness of the banana and dates creates an healthy, easy, delicious and refreshing breakfast.

Blueberries are packed with fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidant. Ground flaxseed meal add a huge amount of dietary fibre, important for a healthy digestive system. Dates are one of the best natural ways to ensure your stomach and digestion stay in great shape.
All these amazing properties combined with the almond milk’s protein (when you buy it make sure it has no added sugars) makes this smoothie a bomb of healthy nutrients.

Further Food Commentary:

Giada has it right--the ingredients in this smoothie all provide a slew of healthy nutrients. This particular smoothie is an excellent post workout smoothie, with a little bit of protein and unsaturated fats, potassium, and a lot of carbohydrates to replenish your muscle glycogen stores. Add a small pinch of salt to increase the sodium and drink lots of water to hydrate your body with fluid and electrolytes while enjoying your smoothie!
