Savory Turkey Meatballs

Print

I often get nostalgic and crave my mom’s spaghetti and meatballs. Although they were delicious, I wanted to recreate a healthier version of them with lean protein versus ground beef. I also wanted a recipe that was simple to cook (hello busy people!).

The end result? Savory, healthy and irresistible.

Further Food Commentary:

Lean ground turkey breast is a great alternative to traditional beef in meatballs, offering high protein for very little fat. The addition of onion, garlic and herbs, plus an egg for binding, makes this grain-free version satisfying and full of flavor. As growing season moves ahead, consider fresh herbs instead dried: use 1 Tbsp each of fresh parsley and oregano, or experiment with other favorites!

Note: Cut sodium content in half by decreasing salt to 1/2 teaspoon
