Further Food Nutritionist Commentary:

A little goes a long way with this simple four-ingredient smoothie. All you need are two fruits and two vegetables in this recipe, and voila: you’ve got a diverse all-star team of health-supportive nutrients. With its plethora of phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals, spinach helps your body fight against oxidation and inflammation. Spinach is a rich source of vitamin K, which is essential for bone and blood health. In addition to immune-boosting vitamin C, tropical pineapple contains a bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme that helps to break down proteins and aids in digestive processes. The potassium content in bananas goes a long way toward supporting cardiovascular health and reducing blood pressure. Bananas also contain pectin, a soluble fiber that helps to normalize blood sugar. Yellow bell pepper lends antioxidant-rich carotenoids and vitamin C to this recipe. To maximize these nutrients, a ripe pepper is best!

this is my new favorite morning smoothie! the peppers really balance out the sweetness. I’d Also recommend adding a touch of cinnamon for a little spice-kick! 🙂
